Wayte & Ridge Longton Staffordshire Majolica Figure of a Seated Fox

Wayte & Ridge Longton Staffordshire Majolica figure of a seated fox with crossed legs and arms balancing a book. The figure has the pottery mark from the Wayte and Ridge Pottery which was located at Waterloo Place in Longton Staffordshire. The base of the figure also has the diamond shaped impress registration mark from the British patent office. Minor chips to the base otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1880.
